The IVF process consists of several stages:

The first, simpler way, the egg, which are in the nutrient medium, added to the sperm suspension. In the first, simpler method, a suspension of spermatozoa is added to the eggs that are in the culture medium. Within 2-3 hours one of the spermatozoa penetrates into the egg and fertilizes it. In the second method a single sperm is injected into an egg manually using microsurgical instruments. After the sperm penetration the egg is considered an embryo. The embryos are kept in artificial conditions from 2 to 5 days. With the help of modern genetic technology is possible to examine the embryo for the genetic disease, and to determine the sex of a child.

4. The transfer of embryos. Embryo transfer is performed with a special catheter through the cervix on the 2nd - 5th day after the oocyte retrieval. Usually, 3 embryos are transferred, while the remaining embryos undergo  cryopreservation and can be used in subsequent attempts of IVF.

5. Luteal phase support. To reduce the chance of spontaneous abortion after the transfer of embryos, progesterone preparations are prescribed for 2  weeks.

After 2 weeks, the woman undergoes the blood test to confirm or exclude pregnancy. Depending on the result of the study, further tactics of the patient's management are determined.
